Learning from a little child.

The smallest one in our family is just over 18 months old.  He is such a joy, so full of life.  He was sitting on the floor in his diaper, with his baby curls like a halo around his head.  It was just after having his bath, and it was time for his nap. 

I asked him if he wanted a drink, he shook his head 'NO'. Then I asked if he wanted his stuff toy, again the head shook in answer, 'NO'!

I then said to him, "It is time for a nap.  Let's go."  And of course the head shook in the negative again.

But to my surprise, he got up and headed for the bed.  As he walked he continued to shake his head 'No', but he just kept right on walking to the bed where he laid his head down and within minutes he was sleeping.

As I was looking at him I heard within my heart, "Even when he did not want to do what you asked, he knows you care for him and so he went with you. Why can't you see it is the same with me?"

Lord, help me to remember that you surely are out for my good.
